One of the things we love most about fashion is that, wait long enough, and everything will come back around eventually. While the boat shoe never actually went away – it long ago settled contentedly into its comfort zone as the choice footwear of preppy sloanes on summer hols – in 2025 it has had something of a reboot. What started last year on Miuccia Prada’s runways has continued into this year with Loewe, whose catwalks took on a nautical flavour this spring/summer.
