Where do you call home?
A beautiful cheerful yellow Georgian house in Shepton Mallet, Somerset.
Which is your favourite season?
Summer – for the garden and for being warm (sometimes) and outside.
What was the last item of clothing you bought?
A Cabbages & Roses’ jumper, which was actually a rejected sample. I wear it all the time. I pretty much only wear Cabbages & Roses – or Vinted and eBay for things like shoes and jeans.
What is currently on your bedside table?
A picture from our wedding and pictures of my mother. Also, a beautiful ceramic cross my aunt gave to me and a book about woodland that my brother gave to me.
What is for dinner tonight — and who will cook it?
Gado Gado, which is an Indonesian salad with peanut sauce. I love Asian food of all kinds. My husband and I normally cook together in this phase of life. When I am busy, he cooks and when we have lots of people over, I like to cook.
What is your favourite restaurant in the world?
Chefs Warehouse Maison in Franshoek, South Africa. It’s in the vineyards and you eat the most amazing food outside under the trees surrounded by vines and chickens.
You have an unexpected afternoon on your hands: how do you fill it?
In the sun, I will spend it in the garden, always. In the winter, or when its wet, I would be cooking or watching a good film.
Which famous female do you most admire?
Forever I have admired Kate Adie. I always wanted to be a lawyer or a journalist. She was my first female hero.
What makes for the perfect holiday for you?
We go to Elsewhere in Goa. You wake up to the sound of the sea and it is simple and perfect in every way.
What is your most prized possession?
A necklace my mother gave me, which I have never taken off.
