New life poking through the soil, a chorus of chirrups, and the buzz of winged creatures in the air: spring has well and truly arrived, and there’s no better time to immerse yourself in nature. Perfect timing, then, that this March, the Royal Horticultural Society is making it easier than ever to do just that. From 15 to 23 March, visitors to RHS Gardens can enjoy all the splendour of the season for just £1 per person, thanks to National Lottery Open Week.

An annual celebration of lottery players, whose contributions help fund a wealth of good causes across the UK. As a token of appreciation, National Lottery-funded venues, including RHS Gardens, are offering discounts and special deals to visitors who present a valid National Lottery ticket, Scratchcard, or Instant Win game.

Five exquisite RHS Gardens – Bridgewater in Greater Manchester, Harlow Carr in Yorkshire, Hyde Hall in Essex, Rosemoor in Devon, and Wisley in Surrey – are opening their gates to visitors at this special rate. And what a time to visit! Spring at RHS Gardens is a feast for the senses, with drifts of golden daffodils, bursts of bright blue pushkinias, and early blossoms of star magnolias and cherry trees painting the landscape in vibrant hues.

Families, too, will find plenty to delight in. A charming interactive trail, inspired by Guess How Much I Love You™, invites children to hop, stretch, and explore the wonders of the season through colour, texture, and nature-based discovery.

Beyond the gardens, the National Lottery Heritage Fund has played a vital role in supporting RHS initiatives, from community gardening projects to the restoration of the historic laboratory at RHS Wisley.

We can’t think of a nicer way to welcome spring with open arms – and at an inarguable price. Find out more at the RHS website and plan your visit.
