Outdoor/ Indoor Living
This is Simon Hurst’s 1930s Walthamstow home. It was the winner in the Best Garden Makeover Category back at the inaugural London Home Design Awards, and we love it so. The colour! The sliding doors (not a ubiquitous bi-fold or Crittall in sight)! And the organic Mediterranean feel of it! It is, we think, testament to the notion that good design does not have to be – in fact, probably shouldn’t be – identikit.
Cosy Nook
Who could resist this nook for a snooze and a blissful moment of peace to read? Farmhouse style perfection.
Pantry of Dreams
There can be few pantries as aesthetically pleasing as this joyous masterpiece, designed for the stashing away of coffee making accoutrements and condiments in tidy style. That gingham skirting! The inviting yellow! Too much.
In The Pink
Pretty in pink but balanced by the earthiness of the industrial green and the sold Windsor chairs, we love this kitchen, which just so happens to belong to actor Sienna Miller.
Green With Envy
We would give much to be enjoying the fruits of our labour in the warmth of this charming greenhouse, enamel cup of coffee and book in hand.
An Enchanted Bedroom
This, surely, is one of the most magical rooms for children we have seen, complete with woodland friends on the walls. We love the depth of colour and the fact that it is wholly enchanting without being remotely cutesy.
