Cast Iron Pepper & Spice Grinder Bowl, £49
Foodie Finds Spice Grinder John Lewis

Since Instagram changed its algorithms and I now no longer see interesting things that I might like to buy as gifts, I was over the moon when I saw Gill Meller using this spice grinder on one of his posts. The look and feel of this little pot had me reaching for Google to find one. However, luckily someone had already asked that question in the post and so I knew where it came from. You can buy one from John Lewis.

It is one of those kitchen gadgets that will give me so much pleasure over the coming years, in fact it comes with a twenty-five year guarantee. It's so much better to use than a pestle and mortar, where the ingredients tend to fly out in all directions. Handmade in Sweden, the grinder is heavy, fits nicely into your hand and gives a very satisfying grind to seeds and spices.

I would say that the image John Lewis uses is a little bit misleading as it shows nearly two pots. So that you know, you get two vessels (an outer and inner) and a walnut lid. - Arabella
