Summer’s swansong is always bittersweet. Basking in the final droplets of golden sun is joyful, life-affirming and intensified by the knowledge that we’ll probably have to wait until next summer rolls around for more days like this. And so, while we also look forward to the crisp air of early autumn and the fresh start it signifies, we will hang on to the last vestiges for as long as we can – including in our wardrobes. We’re not quite ready to let go of our summer dresses or shorts yet, and so instead we’ll be extending their lives for as long as possible by adding in fine layers as we go.
