With immaculate taste, dedication and precision, she has helped launch some of the finest hotels in the four corners of the world. Here, she tells us what makes her tick.

Where do you call home?

My cottage in Norfolk, known with much love as the Mouse House. Even though we live in London and I’m constantly on the road, this is the place I love most of all. It is the place where I am the most relaxed, inspired and creative and the place where I sleep the best.

What is your favourite hotel in the world?

It is impossible to choose one. The truth is that I love different places for different things and moments in my life. I love Nihi Sumba for remote, end-of-the earth distraction from life. I love Singita Grumeti in Tanzania for nature, for the experience and for being so grounded. I love Hotel du Cap-Eden-Roc for extreme old-school glamour. I love Gleneagles in Scotland for the best times with my family. A final great love is Borgo Santandrea on the Amalfi Coast. There is just nowhere like it.

Which mode of transport do you like best?

TRAIN all the way. If only it was possible to go everywhere on a Swiss-run, Italian-designed train. Alas, this is mostly not the reality with my travel schedule, so I choose BA. Although, of late, I feel like we are in rather an abusive relationship…

What was the last item of clothing you bought?

A Blaze Milano blazer from Chamber and Clay in the Gleneagles Arcade. I’m obsessed.

What is currently on your bedside table?

Nancy: The Story of Lady Astor by Adrian Fort. One day I want to go into politics, so the first female MP is my ultimate inspiration. Also, my Oura ring charger and my eye drops, because my eyes are FAR too dry from travelling so much. And usually some kind of Thomas the Tank Engine or Tractor Ted book to read to my son at bedtime.

You have an unexpected afternoon on your hands; how do you fill it?

Holkham Beach, Norfolk

In Norfolk, walking on Holkham Beach. In London, at The Lanesborough Club and Spa having a deep tissue massage or HydraFacial. Or a loooong lunch with friends and much red Burgundy.

Which living female do you most admire?

Michelle Obama for her speeches and her arms. And Minette Batters, President of the NFU, who stands up for British farming every day and is a kick-ass woman in a man’s world.

Which beauty product could you not do without?

When I travel I love The Midnight Miracle Oil from Seed to Skin Tuscany. It is packed with Vitamins A and E which help with skin regeneration. It contains wild rose, lavender and sandalwood – all gorgeous scents to help me drift off to sleep – and leaves my skin hydrated even after the longest of flights.

What are you currently binge-watching?

Landman, from the creators of Yellowstone. It is about the oil industry in Texas and is terrifying, exhilarating and momentarily hilarious when you don’t focus on how f**ed the world is.

What is your most prized possession?

My son. Oh and My BA Gold Card. At least it was until they created Group 0…
