Are you in the camp that regards Valentine’s Day as the perfect opportunity to express how much your beloved means to you? Or do you see it as commercialised nonsense? (To the latter we say there is nothing to stop you making your paramour a present, a sweet treat or a card.) We think it best not to overthink it: after all, who doesn’t enjoy giving or receiving a little token of affection, whether a posy gathered from the garden or something beautiful from a boutique. Our hearts would burst at unwrapping any of these on Valentine’s Day – or any other day for that matter.
