Instagram has emerged over the last few years as a treasure trove for vintage lovers and second-hand enthusiasts. From a sustainability perspective alone, we are huge champions of the trend which surfaced a few years ago and has now bedded in beautifully, with more and more sellers taking to the platform to offer up their finds to increasingly engaged followings.

This is no jumble sale tat: these Insta sellers have a knack for unearthing the most beautiful items, all steeped in history and brimming with character – and often at excellent prices. Whether you're hunting for mid-century furniture, quirky homewares, or eclectic antiques, these independent sellers bring carefully curated finds right to your feed – and all you have to do is comment ‘yes please.’ One caveat: you’d best be quick – the best things go like hot cakes.

Here's a round-up of some of the best Instagram accounts to follow to bag some preloved gems.

Natalia Rawley

@nataliavioletantiques

Natalia Rawley is one of Instagram’s shining stars when it comes to vintage and antique home décor. Specialising in one-of-a-kind finds typically sourced from down-sizers who task her with divesting that which they can no longer find space for, what she sells tends to be of the highest quality and often hard-to-find were one looking for oneself – a fact underscored by the way her highly engaged followers snap up her wares in a few seconds flat. From French market baskets to vintage glassware to original artworks to fantastic rugs to the odd seriously unusual piece, Natalia’s curation feels both sophisticated and homely – if you’re determined to bag a bargain, you’ll need to set up alerts as her feed is very much a fastest-finger-first affair.

We loved: This antique dresser, which looks like it’s wandered straight out of Brambly Hedge.

Preloved in Lewes

@prelovedinlewes_

Gathering the most beautiful things in the heart of Sussex, Preloved in Lewes combines Bloomsbury-inspired charm with a flair for finding wonderful rustic French pieces all the most enticing effect. Specialising in vintage furniture, textiles, and home accessories, Amanda, who runs the business, has a brilliant eye for editing pieces, and her loyal customers know innately that everything she lists for sale is something that she truly loves herself. Whether it’s an antique chair or a rustic vase, each piece has a story, which in turn delivers bags of character to an interior. Sales happen at 6pm on a Sunday, so stay tuned while your supper roasts in the oven.

We loved: This beautiful French candleholder in glazed green.

Lou and Pickle

@louandpickle

Lou and Pickle is a well-loved Suffolk-based Instagram shop run by a husband-and-wife duo. They specialise in preloved homeware, offering a carefully curated selection of eclectic vintage finds, with a particular speciality in sourcing vintage kilims. Their feed is filled with beautiful home accessories, from sublime valances to hand-painted ceramics. The laid-back, rustic aesthetic makes this account perfect for those who want to introduce an informal, lived-in vintage vibe into their home.

We loved: This antique kilim, which has all the right colours to deliver warmth in winter, while also adding a good pop of colour in summer.

Marland Home

@marlandhome

Run by Katherine Marland, Marland Home uploads a flurry of new finds every weekday at 3pm. There is something for the gamut of budgets, from sweet ceramics to finely crafted furniture, the common thread being that Katherine only sources things that she would happily have in her own home. From the most beautiful quilts to Staffordshire pottery to sweetly embroidered pieces, she has an eye for the characterful and the charming – and who doesn’t want characterful or charming? In fact, so lovely are her pieces that artist Debbie George has painted a series featuring her finds.

We loved: This collection of Staffordshire pottery hen tureens, which would be beautiful in any country kitchen.

Interior Lewes

@interior.lewes

Another brilliant seller of antiques hailing from the East Sussex market town, this feed specialises in really excellent mid-century modern pieces. While some accounts on this list are unapologetically maximalist in persuasion, this one tends towards minimalism – and its prices are really excellent. One to watch avidly.

We loved: This pair of vintage folding chairs in the style of Aldo Jacober.

Eligo

@by_eligo

Amie and Alessandra met at the school gates after relocating to Oxfordshire from London and quickly discovered a shared love for interiors and for seeking out treasures from around the world. They have a fantastic eye and we love their beautifully curated site. You have to be quick though as their pieces get snapped up!

We loved: These gorgeous glass bubbly Swedish tea light holders. A perfect touch for those cosy nights in.

Home & Coastal

@homeandcoastal

There is a real warmth and homeliness that runs through Home & Coastal’s feed, which is run by the very talented Fiona. With an onus on textiles, artworks and decorative accessories, all is softness and gentle craftsmanship – which, happily, you can purchase little slices of to recreate at home by simply commenting on her posts.

We loved: This whole scene, featuring rugs, hand-embroidered textiles and cushions.

Gailie71

@gailie71

If you’re looking for beautiful soft furnishings, textiles and sublime antique curtains, be sure to follow Gail O'Reilly, aka @gailie71, who has a brilliant nose for the best of the best. Looking for chintz covered classic armchairs? This is the place.

We loved: This sensational wicker sun lounger with a Flora Soames-covered mattress.

The Vintage Lurcher

@thevintagelurcher

From her base on a Dartmoor Hill farm, Becky – the antique hunter behind The Vintage Lurcher – sources a collection of decorative accessories, typically specialising in ceramics and cutlery. We love her styling, which is always thoughtful and her taste, which is unerring.

We loved: The sunshine cheer of this Vintage T.G.Green & Co striped Cornishware jug.
