One Day
What?
The smash-hit David Nicholls book was adapted into a feature-length movie back in 2011, which starred Anne Hathaway and Jim Sturgess. Despite the starriness of the cast back then, the film was widely panned. Given the time-hopping nature of the book, a series seems a far more fitting way to tell the story, so we have high hopes for this new take. The Guardian says, ‘Leo Woodall is a wonder as the entitled yet vulnerable posh boy Dexter, and Ambika Mod brings her excellent comedy chops to the role of Emma, as we watch the pair’s lives roll out via snapshots of one day every year. You will have goosebumps – and lots of them.’ We’re excited.
Who stars?
Relative newcomers Leo Woodall (The White Lotus) and Ambika Mod (This Is Going To Hurt) will soon be household names following their turn in this sure-to-be-a-hit show.
Where to watch?
On Netflix from February 8.

What?
We would watch the latest show from Sally Wainwright, the genius behind Happy Valley, no matter its subject matter. But that fact that the story hinges on the quick-witted young Nell, who finds herself framed for murder and subsequently becomes the most feared highwaywoman in 18th-century England, means that we’re already hooked before we’ve even seen the opening scenes.

Louisa Harland, Joely Richardson, Adrian Lester and Nick Mohammed.
