The tale of two identical sisters, business partners Liv and Dom are ceramicists and illustrators who create from their East Sussex-based home studio. Focusing predominantly on the nude female form, Liv and Dom’s story began straight out of university, having completed a BA in Illustration at Bournemouth, they began selling their earlier pieces at markets, trying to make ends meet. Now they take on commissions from the likes of Netflix, Whistles, The Wing and Monica Vinader and also host private events.

Selling functional ceramic homewares, wearables and prints, they have a catalogue of iconic incense holders, jewellery and ceramic homeware. Their playful, freeing style celebrates the female body and its many forms.

A lot of their base colours are soft tones, earthy and neutral, aside from the odd cobalt blue or bright mustard. This was mainly out of necessity in the beginning because they were just using clay straight from the bag. The colours are inspired by their home, trends in interiors and fashion, and walks around their town and the South Downs.

They were encouraged to be creative by their Mum who is also a very creative person, enjoying sewing, upcycling, interior design and photography. The sisters always had little projects on the go as kids, such as making new outfits for toys.

A typical working day starts at 8.30am, having breakfast, feeding the cat and chatting through the agenda for that particular day. They start work around 10am, maybe making clay all day, glazing, brainstorming ideas or working on commission pieces. It’s very much 50/50 with delegating tasks.

The end of the workday can be between 3pm and 11pm. Liv is usually in charge of social media, making slab work, jewellery, dishes, pots, as well as illustration work. Dom is in charge of ordering materials, making incense holders and doing the taxes. They both manage the website, reply to emails, maintain the studio, pack and send orders plus lead workshops.

The last stock drop was on April 4th at 7PM. I particularly love the large platters, candlesticks and vases.

The spoon rests make perfect gifts as do the bottle stops.
