Dig was founded in 2021 by four friends with varying levels of gardening expertise: Henry, Ed, Ben and Alex. They shared the belief that gardening should be accessible, easy and enjoyable, so created Dig to make gardening less complicated and help people create a beautiful outdoor space, no matter their level of knowledge.

Their professional design team has developed pre-planned ‘Instant flower beds’ across a number of themes, shapes and sizes. They deliver all the plants to your front door on the day of your choice. The idea being that by ordering one you will receive mature and healthy plants in a design that’s properly thought through.

The five themes on the website are:

The Adventure - In partnership with award-winning child nutritionist Charlotte Stirling-Reed - this theme is especially designed for children. Bright colours, sensory textures, edible fruits and lots of fun.

The Cottage - The timeless English cottage garden requires less maintenance and is a little bit wild with colourful perennials such as geraniums, foxgloves and salvias.

The Jungle - An exotic garden refuge inspired by the plants of the tropics. Big leaves, luxuriant shapes and textures including tree ferns, bamboos, palms and evergreen ferns.

The Classic - Calm, simple elegance with a touch of formality. Clean lines and a relaxing colour palette. Planting includes evergreen shrubs and perennials like agapanthus, geraniums and anemones.

The Mediterranean - A gentle, informal design combined with muted colours. Planting includes evergreen shrubs and small trees such as olives, bay and pine and scented small shrubs like lavender, rosemary and thyme.

They also offer a Bespoke Designs service too for those who want something more tailored.

Every Dig order is delivered with a personalised planting guide which includes helpful tips, a colour-coded planting plan and key and a plant list with photos and information on each plant in your order.

Dig are also committed to making garden choices that are positive for the planet by always supplying peat-free compost, as well as improving urban biodiversity by creating gardens full of horticultural variety, and providing safe habitats for pollinators and other wildlife. They also contribute 1% of all revenue to removing CO2 from the atmosphere through Stripe Climate.
