Ocado began as a bold experiment in back in 2000, founded by three former Goldman Sachs bankers: Jonathan Faiman, Jason Gissing, and Tim Steiner. Together, they envisioned a future where groceries could be delivered seamlessly without the need for physical stores. At a time when online shopping was still in its infancy, the idea of a purely digital supermarket was met with some scepticism. But Ocado quickly set itself apart, forging an exclusive partnership with Waitrose in 2002 and building one of the most sophisticated automated warehouse systems anywhere in the world.

Needless to say, Ocado’s offering thrived during the pandemic-driven e-commerce boom of 2020, as consumers turned to online grocery shopping in record numbers. Today, Ocado is as much a tech powerhouse as it is a retailer; with its focus on robotics and logistics, Ocado continues to push the boundaries of what’s possible in the world of grocery delivery, cementing itself as one of the most innovative companies across the whole retail landscape. Now partnered with M&S, who, after all, doesn’t love excellent quality food, delivered straight to the door?

Here’s our guide to its hot new products in spring 2025.

Oddbox Thai Curry Paste, £2.40

Oddbox Thai Red Curry Paste

Ocado has teamed up with Oddbox and Built By Women, champion of female-founded brands, to bring you a curry paste made with produce that tastes great but wouldn’t make the cut in the looks department – a rescue mission Oddbox has been on since its founder Emilie first fatefully tried a wonky-but-delicious tomato in a market in Portugal and hatched a plan, whose fruits we can now happily devour courtesy of Ocado.

M&S Best Ever Prawn Toast, £4.50

M&S Our Best Ever Prawn Toast

Who needs to splash out on a takeaway when Ocado will deliver the goods in the form of these delicious prawn toasts, with chopped prawns, onions, sweet red chillies and spring onions topped with white and black sesame seeds? Perfect for a cosy night in.

All Things Butter Organic Salted Butter, £2.40

All Things Butter Organic Salted Butter

As suckers for a fancy butter, this had us at the playful packaging and at ‘organic’, which feels ultra important when it comes to dairy. Made using traditional methods from 100% British cream, it is hand-salted, double-churned – and, for its efforts, extra delicious.

British Daffodils, £1

M&S British Daffodils

It’s our favourite time of the year, when we get to fill the house up with cheery daffs – all for a pound a pop. What’s more, you can now have yours delivered with your Ocado order. Joy!

The Good Crisp Co Sea Salt & Vinegar Potato Crisps, £2.88

Sea Salt & Vinegar Potato Crisps

Hallelujah! A healthier alternative to Pringles, they of the horribly true ‘once you pop you can’t stop’ slogan. Gluten-free, these may still be an ultra-processed food, but they contain far fewer, and crucially mostly recognisable, ingredients.

Char Siu Pork, £5.50

M&S Char Siu Pork

Sliced char siu marinated pork in an aromatic hoisin & ginger sauce with vegetables – aka, a very tasty night in with a friend and a good bottle of something cold.

M&S High Protein Beef Brisket & Smoky Tomato Beans, £5.50

Beef Brisket

Looking for a nutritious comfort supper? Look no further than this beef brisket, which comes with smoky beans and kale. Hearty and healthy.

Biona Organic Sweet Potato Buckwheat Burgers, £3.80

Buckwheat Burgers

Many plant-based meat substitutes are packed full of questionable ingredients. Not so Biona’s sweet potato burgers. Containing only veg, seeds and grains, they’re perfect for vegans and, simply, those who like a tasty, non-carnivorous feast.

OrchardWorld Ready to Eat Extra Large Plums, £3.50

Plums

Juicy, perfectly ripe, sweet yet tart plums from Spain, OrchardWorld picks the best varieties only: African Delight has radiant red skin and yellow flesh, while September Yummy features ‘a pale-yellow flesh with a quaint pink infusion beneath the naturally waxy, burgundy red speckled skin.’

Gu Tiramisu, £2.50

Ocado Gu Tiramisu

Gu, in case you’ve never tried its dangerously good desserts, puts most other ranges of shop-bought puddings in the shade. Now Ocado is stocking its tiramisu, that’s our desserts taken care of for the forseeable future. (A tip: do attempt to pass this off as your own. No one need ever know).
