Son De Flor – which translates to ‘Sound of Flower – is one of our favourite fashion discoveries of recent times. The creation of sisters Indre and Vaida, like all the best things, the label came about to address a gap in the sartorial landscape. Looking for the kind of dress that their mother used to wear at Christmas and finding nothing to fit the bill, they decided to make their own.
As they describe it, it was ‘an elegant classic Peter Pan collar dress with a charming twirl from the best linen we could find in the small country near the big Baltic sea. That dress is so much more than meets the eye. It’s calm and safety. It’s home. It’s laughter around the dining table. It’s comfort and assurance. It’s modest and yet standing out. No chase of trends, nor seasons. Timeless. Feminine. Charming. Subtle.’
We have also fallen hard for the duo’s Instagram account, which features as much dancing as it does fashion. Here is how we would style this red beauty for spring.
Take one Son De Flor frock, add accessories, et voila: three spring-perfect looks.
Look One: Spring Picnic
This swingy linen dress is perfect for a day spent amongst the wildflowers, devouring sandwiches and cloudy lemonade.
Look Two: Tea Dance
This is the ideal frock for swinging around a dance floor. Drawn-on seam up the back of the leg optional.
Look Three: Summer Nights
It may be a while before the sweltering evenings hit. But when they do, we’ll be ready in this killer summer nights outfit.
