Even amid a landscape of snug winter knitwear, there is something about cable-knit that stands out as extra cosy; it speaks at once of items that our grannies might have made for us, yet striking a distinctly glamourous Alpine après ski note all the while. And, even better, when donning a good chunky cable knit, it feels almost imperative to seek out a pew by the fireside and to drink something mulled, ideally contained within an enamel mug.
