We’re as much as sucker for a towering wedge espadrille as the next red lipstick-wearing, wide brim straw hat-donning, maxi dress-rocking sun worshipper. But unless we’re out for a heady, cicada-sound-tracked evening on the Med – or at least in Mediterranean-style weather – then it is flat shoes that make our summer style edit. Perfect for everyday wearing teamed with neatly cropped trousers or billowing skirts, we say the sweeter the chicer. Think ballet flats, classic boater shoes, loafers and slippers, the inherent joy of these styles being that they go with pretty much everything. These are the pairs that make our cut.
