As the summer holidays loom into view, I thought I’d round up the beauty buys that are getting me in the swing of the season, because we certainly can’t rely on the weather for that vibe. From a surprise new entry into my summer fragrance rotation to the gradual tanner I’m buying in bulk to the make-up I’m heavily leaning on to deliver that AWOL sun-kissed glow, these are the products that will be coming with me wherever I go this summer.

Floral Street

Arizona Bloom, £74
Arizona Bloom, £74

I wasn’t even looking for a new summer fragrance (Hermes Citron Noir and Diptyque Philosykos are my die-hard go-to scents). And yet, out the blue, I fell hard for Floral Street’s Arizona Bloom. It has that deliciously evocative salty skin with a hint of coconut sun-cream holiday feeling to immediately lift your mood – yet with musks, amber and black pepper to help it linger as the sun goes down. Pure sunshine escapism in a bottle.

Isle of Paradise

Gradual Self-Tan, £9
Gradual Self-Tan, £9

This was a last-minute grab at the airport last month and after first application I was straight online ordering it in bulk. With added niacinamide, vitamin C and hyaluronic acid, it gives skin a real glow and a perfect, even colour. Skincare and safe tanning in one. Clever stuff.

Murad

Essential-C Day Moisturise Sun Cream SPF30, £69
Essential-C Day Moisturise Sun Cream SPF30, £69

Expensive for an SPF I grant you, but this clever formulation has had me do away with my separate day cream, SPF and primer so, in theory, I’m saving money (beauty girl maths). My skin is protected, hydrated and glowy in one swipe and it plays nicely under make-up with no white cast or piling. A daily must-have, not just for summer.

Davines

All in One Milk, £27.75
All In One Milk, £27.75 Copy

Family-run Sicilian brand Davines was born in the 1980s when it originally formulated haircare for other leading beauty brands. Fast-forward 40 years and the now B-Corp company makes its own-brand range of amazing vegan products. I have used its All-in-One Milk for years after ‘borrowing’ a bottle from an Italian relative in the know. Happily, it’s now available widely in the UK and the leave-in treatment is just the thing for softening and repairing frazzled summer locks.

Hourglass

Unlocked Instant Extensions Mascara, £31
Unlocked Instant Extensions Mascara, £31

It’s such a small tweak, but Hourglass’ Unlocked Instant Extensions mascara wand has a tapered tip, making it a doddle to get right to those end lashes and in at the root. Whilst it’s not waterproof, it’s definitely smudge-proof in the heat and feels lightweight and effortless to wear. Perfect for every day, longer, lifted lashes.

Saie

Glowy Super Gel in Sunglow, £22
SAIE GLOWY SUPER GEL

If you need some added oomph in the summer glow department (who doesn’t rn?) Saie’s quenching super gel in Sunglow is perfect for adding a pearly, bronzed sheen to collarbones, cheekbones and even eyelids for a healthy gleam that melts seamlessly into skin.
