Hermes Citron Noir > Liberty Wild Rosinda
Out with my perennial summer fragrance, the citrusy, smoky perfection of Citron Noir, dubbed the ‘sexy G&T’ scent by my husband. For autumn I’ll be snuggling into Liberty’s Wild Rosinda, a wild, curranty, woody rose which is perfect for the cosy days ahead.
Wild Rosinda, £45
Gradual Tanner > Body Butter
My skin is positively reptilian after all the salt and chlorine of holidays. Now it’s going to be swathed in denim and wools, I don’t need to self-tan, so I can indulge in my favourite rich body butter which cleverly suspends micro droplets of nourishing oil in water to hydrate and nourish in one.
Super Healthy Skin Deluxe Body Creme, £19 (Beauty Pie members price)
Coral Blush > Pink Blush
Coral, orange tones are perfect to compliment sun-kissed skin, but as the tan fades and my complexion returns to its ghostly Celtic roots, a hint of Saie’s Dew Blush pink on the cheeks to mimic a fresh, autumnal walk is just the thing.
Saie Dew Blush in Dreamy, £20
White Nail Polish > Rouge Noir
I’ve loved a simple milky white nail over summer to make skin look even more tanned, plus it’s great if you tend to wear a lot of colour and want something that universally goes. Come autumn until spring, however, there is only one colour for me: the seasonally chic rouge noir.
Chanel Rouge Noir, £29
Conditioner > Hair Mask
I have been pretty slapdash with my haircare over summer. Travelling a lot means switching between brands and hotel amenities, plus the onslaught of chlorine, sea salt and sunshine,. Consequently, my hair is wrecked. It’s time to call in the big guns and after a big post-summer chop, I’m determined to nurture my lengths back to their glossy, former glory with regular hair masques and some nourishing oils.
Davines Nounou Hair Mask, £27
Cleansing Gel > Cleansing Balm
A foaming gel or wash is refreshing in summer but as the weather turns colder, I become increasingly aware that my cleansing step needs to be as nourishing as possible to conserve my skin’s moisture levels against the incoming weather and central heating.
Emma Hardie Moringa Cleansing Balm, £52
Night Cream > Facial Oil
Just as my cleansing step needs to up the ante to protect my skin through the coming months, I always add in a heavier weight night oil in place of my usual moisturiser to really lock in moisture and keep my skin soft and naturally bright, even in the depths of winter.
