Deloitte

Deloitte, founded in 1893, has over 250,000 employees worldwide. Consulting for private and public companies, in industries including energy, healthcare, energy, finance and retail, the Deloitte services cover audit, tax, enterprise risk and financial advisory services. Their site is full of in-depth trend reports and consumer research, the homepage ‘trending’ list is a great snapshot of the day’s hot topics, covered by Deloitte’s experts to give businesses a clear steer on the latest industry news.

EY

EY, or Ernest & Young is another of the ‘big four’. Based in London, the multinational professional consulting firm offers Assurance, Advisory, Tax and Transaction Advisory Services. EY helps firms fulfill regulatory requirements, improve operational effectiveness, manage risk and drive growth. Their new UK Charity, the EY Foundation has been established to give young people the skills, experiences and support to get the jobs they really want, and connect employers to talented young people across the UK.

KPMG

Founded in Bristol in 1818, after a number of mergers and global growth through the decades, KPMG has become one of the ‘big four’ in audit, tax and advisory services. Often topping the ‘best companies to work for’ lists, their website is full of careers advice for undergraduates and apprentices on how to get started in the industry, plus their podcast, ‘The Business of Brexit’ is a useful listen giving expert analysis of the real impact of Brexit on UK businesses.

PwC

PwC (PricewaterhouseCoopers) is second only in size to Deloitte, as a global professional services firm. PwC offers capabilities across actuarial, audit and assurance, economics and policy, tax and its latest sector, sustainability and climate change. Their site’s ‘Insights’ section is full of blogs and podcasts for businesses, while their Learning Lab offers remote upskilling courses for employers to invest in their employees, helping them expand their knowledge base in a range of areas such as problem solving, sales and negotiation and cyber security.

McKinsey

American global management consulting firm, McKinsey & Company provide strategy and management consulting services, such as analysis on an acquisition; developing a plan to restructure a sales force; creating a new business strategy or providing advice on downsizing. McKinsey founded Generation, a non-profit focused on tackling global youth unemployment, in 2014. By the end of 2017 it had trained and graduated 16,000+ students across five countries - and placed 82% of them in jobs.

Bain & Company

Where many consulting firms come in to ‘consult’, deliver their findings and leave, Bain was launched in 1973 to approach management consultancy differently. Focussed on delivering results and actions, not just recommendations, they have experts across 22 industries, from aerospace to retail and telecoms.

Boston Consulting Group (BCG)

Boston Consulting Group, BCG is all about ‘future-proofing’ your business, whether it’s finding a new greener, more sustainable way of working, or looking at diversity and inclusion within your workforce. Accenture

Accenture employ nearly half a million people globally and are at the forefront of innovation consulting. Seeking out the latest advances in IT, product development and human experience for their clients, to stay at the forefront of technological development.

Oliver Wyman

With a focus on banking and financial services, US management consulting firm, Oliver Wyman was named one of 2019 FORTUNE 100 Best Companies to Work For in 2019. In 2018, 27,326 hours were volunteered by Oliver Wyman employees to work on community, social and charity projects. French-founded Capgemini have been named a leader in ‘next-gen software testing’.
