When Lucinda’s third child was a baby, she started writing her blog The London Mummy as a way of amassing businesses and the latest products that she wanted to recommend. Her blog evolved into a directory, product reviews and now has it’s own e-shop TLM Edit, an online site selling jewellery and fashion accessories. We are delighted to announce that Lucinda is on the judging panel of The Good Web Guide Awards 2019.
Here Lucinda shares some online favourites that deliver on their promises.
If I had a pound every time I heard of a new business with kids as the focus, I would be pretty wealthy. There are so many marvellous websites and apps designed to help busy mums but there are five in particular that have really helped me.
Loopster
Loopster is an upmarket kids eBay. Order a SAE from Loopster, siphon off the children’s good clothes that are upmarket brands and in good condition. Send the envelope back to Loopster and wait for your quote. They do all the hard work.
Oooh La La Label
Not a natural sewer, I like to cheat where I can and have found the dishwasher, wear and waterproof name stickers from Oooh La Label are bullet proof. I have a stash in my glove compartment for sports equipment, shoes and lunch boxes.
Stuck On You
As my kids are frequent club goers, a good lunch box is imperative. Stuck on you not only make sturdy, personalised lunch boxes, but inside is segmented off into food groups so when you are a bit uninspired in the morning, it is a great prompt and no one can argue with 'grains' as that's what's meant to be there.
Labelistas
I sometimes believe my children think water bottles are disposable. They go off to school with one and it never returns. Well, Labelistas has come up with a brilliant answer. They make one size fits all personalised bands that fit snugly over the bottle. There will be no mistaking which is your bottle on sports day.
Kid Pix
I must admit I was slightly cynical at a company choosing my kids’ clothes for me but it is set out in such a way that they can understand your style after a short survey. If you are busy and literally don't have time to physically shop for your growing children, this is a cost effective way to do it and any clothes you aren't keen on you simply send back.
