Your world is likely to have contracted rather dramatically over the past few weeks. Here at the GWG, we are all home-working and some of the team are self-isolating, so our usual gym sessions, trail running, exercises classes and usual fitness routines have gone out the window, whilst we’re stuck on the other side of the glass. If you’re missing your cardio – and boy, could we all use those endorphin highs right now – we’ve done a round-up of the brands offering Live Classes on Instagram right now, as well as the YouTube Channels and websites running free daily classes to get your sweat on. So use that time you’ve saved commuting wisely and clock up your daily exercise count with some of these great studios and instructors.

Joe Wicks

We had to start off with Joe Wicks, the King of at-home workouts. His body-weight only, HIIT sessions are short, sharp and effective. Twenty minutes of intense cardio and you’re set for the day. Perfect if you need a burst of energy, or need to work off anxiety. Follow his PE with Joe, a great one to kickstart your at-home workout habit for all the family. Why not set up a Whatsapp Group and do it together for an added boost of motivation?

Les Mills

Les Mills workouts are renowned for torching some serious calories. If you’re missing your cardio gym class there are Bodypump, Bodycombat and HIIT workouts that have great uplifting soundtracks. Perfect for those looking for a fat-burning workout that will give them a kick of energy for the rest of the day.

Barry’s Bootcamp
Barrys

Barry’s Bootcamp classes in London are legendary – and not just because Victoria Beckham swears by them. The instructor-led, group circuit training sessions are high-octane, fast-paced and addictive. For now, BB addicts, and new adopters can take an IGTV class with Barry’s Bootcamp instructors at home on their Instagram channel. A brilliant offering until the BB studios can open their doors again soon.

Psycle London
Pscycle

Since COVID-19 forced it to close its London-based studios, Psycle London has been running three live workouts a day on Instagram – with workouts including 15-minute HIIT classes and ‘sweat and sculpt’. There are also Live Q&As on how to stay fit and motivated while self isolating. A great brand leading the way for fitness through these unprecedented months.

Peloton
Peloton

Thought Peloton was just for spinning? Think again. The brand has just extended the free 30-day trial to 90-days for their Peloton app, where you can stream cardio, yoga and strength classes, most of which require no equipment at all.

Foundry London
The Foundry

If you’re missing your weights sessions, The Foundry London is running free strength workouts with a range of trainers each morning at 7am on its Instagram Live channel. To get your day off to a strong start, there is a full online schedule of paid classes you can stream too, as well as small group PT classes via Zoom if you’re missing that interaction with a fitness instructor.

Pop Sugar Dance Class

If you need to let off some steam and dance yourself happy, the Pop Sugar ’30-minute feel good dance class’ is a great one to stream. A smiley, fast-paced half hour for you to channel your inner Flashdance and make the most of the opportunity to dance like no one is watching.

Fitness Marshall

It’s no coincidnce that some 2.3m subscribers have all signed up for Caleb Marshall’s dance workout videos; they are brilliant for working up a sweat and raising a smile. Bop along to your favourite cheesy pop routines and forget you’re burning calories – think Justin Bieber, Dua Lipa, the Pussycat Dolls and more. It’s fun, silly and just the light-hearted fitness approach we all need right now.

Fitness Blender

Fitness Blender, set up by husband-and-wife team Daniel and Kelli, has almost 6m YouTube subscribers, and offers 500 completely free, full-length videos to try out – which should keep even the most motivated workout fan busy for the foreseeable. Their channel is full of both high-intensity sessions, as well as low-impact workouts with resistance bands and body weight exercises. There’s plenty of variety to stop boredom setting in – from ten- to 60-mins sessions, there’s something for every level of fitness.
