There’s always one. That person just back from a long Caribbean/ Mediterranean island- hopping holiday whose nut-brown legs suddenly make our own pasty pins feel horribly shy. The good news this year is that no one has been anywhere. And we’re mostly sticking to our local patches of green space, so everyone’s in the same boat.

The other bit of good news? The consistently good weather we’ve been enjoying of late. So we say put shyness aside and step out in a pair of stylish shorts, whether tailored, cropped, denim, long or Bermuda-style. Come September at the school gates, we may even be that person for once, all courtesy of lockdown lounging in the park. Here are a few of our favourites.
